Description

He is a man of secrets

When a mysterious, seductive trader arrives at her door, noblewoman Katrine de Gravere reluctantly agrees to give him shelter. The payment--enough wool to keep her precious looms filled.

She is a woman of lies

Sleeping under the same roof, tempted every minute to let his fingers linger on this flame-haired, reserved innocent, Renard wonders if she suspects his real reasons for being there. In a town where no one feels safe, Katrine makes him yearn for things long forbidden, but can he trust her not to betray him?

About the Author

Blythe started to write and illustrate her first historical novel when she was 10 years old. After many years in public relations, advertising and marketing, she stopped sublimating and returned to her first love. Fortunately, she gave up illustration in the interim.

A lifelong writer, she was an English composition major at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, but she was sidetracked from writing the Great American Novel by the need to earn a living. Five jobs and one M.B.A. later, a layoff led her to consider what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. 'Write a book' was still on the list, so she picked up the pen again.

Blythe is a self-described writer of 'angsty historicals,' while reviewers have used words like 'powerful,' 'gripping,' and 'fast-paced' to describe her work.

She also juggles marketing consulting and freelance writing careers, having worked with or for such firms as First Alert, Rubbermaid, Kraft and General Mills.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Blythe was the daughter of two local television personalities. Her mother was hostess of a show on home and child care, and claims her daughter was 'the first nude on television' when she was used for a demonstration on how to give a baby a bath.

Raised in Indiana, Blythe now lives and works near Chicago’s lakefront. A Sagittarian at heart, she’s traveled to 42 of the 50 states (so far), as well as to Europe and the Mediterranean.

She loves Italian food, Japanese art and Brazilian music, and she feeds her muse with walks along the lakefront, visits to museums and good friends. She reads history for fun.
